Wheelers Lane Primary is a three form entry school. Each year group holds 90 children with Years R through to Y6, divided into classes of 30 pupils.
Wheelers Lane Primary abides by the regulations outlined on the Birmingham City Council website and a link for this is provided below.
The following criteria are used to allocate places for any new children to our school:
1. Looked after or previously looked after children.
2. Siblings; brother or sister who will still be in attendance when the child starts.
3. Distance (children who live nearest the school measured in a straight line).
Distances are calculated on the basis of a straight line measurement between the applicant’s home address and the centre of the school site.
Please note, attendance at our school Nursery does not automatically guarantee a place in our Reception; an application needs to be completed online.
To apply for a place, please complete the Birmingham Local Authority Schools Application using the link below.
To apply for an in-year place in any year group, parents and carers should apply directly to the school bringing their child’s full birth certificate and proof of current address that is less than 3 months old.
Places will be offered according to the Local Authority criteria as listed above.
Where there are no vacant places, children are placed on the waiting list and parents or carers will be contacted if a place becomes available.
We will contact you annually if your child is still on the waiting list to find out whether you would like him/her to remain on the list or be removed.
